01: Arrive in Beijing
Upon your arrival in Beijing, your guide will take you to your hotel and check-in.
Today you will have free time to rest, relax, and then see the city on your
own if you want. Beijing is not only the capital of China but also the second
largest city with more than 11 million people and is the center of the country"s
politics, economics and culture.

Day
02: Beijing (B, L, SD)
Today you will visit several places throughout Beijing. First, you will visit
the Summer Palace, the resort of Empress Dowager Ci XI. After you have lunch,
you will visit Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. Afterwards, you will
eat Peking Duck at a famous Beijing restaurant.

Day
03: Beijing (B, L, D)
Today you will first visit the Great Wall, the only man made structure on Earth
that is visible from the moon. After you walk around and then have lunch, you
will take a ride to the nearby Ming Tombs, the burial site for 13 of the Ming
emperors. Later in the evening, you will attend an acrobatic show.

04: Beijing - Xi"an (B, L, SD)
Today you will fly from Beijing to Xi"an, one of China"s ancient capitals.
When you arrive in Xi"an, you will visit the Ancient City Wall and the
Big Wild Goose Pagoda. For dinner, you will have an imperial dumpling dinner
banquet and view a stage show of Tang Dynasty dancing and music.

Day
05: Xian (B, L, D)
After you eat breakfast, you will first visit the Terra Cotta Warriors, some
of the oldest statues ever found. Then you will visit the Tomb of Emperor Qing
Shi Huang. Afterwards you will head back to your hotel.

06: Xian / Dunhuang (B, L, D)
Today you will fly to Dunhuang and then go to your hotel to check-in.

07: Dunhuang (B, L, D)
First, you will visit Yumenguan Pass, one of the west gates during the Han Dynasty.
Next, you visit the Great Wall of the Han Dynasty. After lunch at a local restaurant,
you will visit the Hecang Fortress. Then be driven back to your hotel.

Day
08: Dunhuang - Turpan via overnight train (B, L, / )
Today you will first visit the Mogao Grottoes, some of the most famous grottoes
in China. Later you will have lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, you
will visit the Dunes of the Singing Sands. Finally, you will visit the Crescent
Moon Lake. In the evening, you will take an overnight train to Turpan.

09: Turpan (B, L, D)
Today, after your arrival in Turpan, you will first visit the Astana Tombs,
the cemetery of the ancient people of Gaochang. Then you will visit the Ancient
City of Gaochang, meaning "King City." After you have eaten lunch,
you will visit the Flaming Mountain and then head back to your hotel for the
evening.

Day
10: Turpan - Urumqi via private coach (B, L, D)
After breakfast, you will leave the hotel and first visit Karez Well. Next,
you will visit the Emin Minaret and eat at a local restaurant. Later you will
travel to the Grape Valley and then arrive at Urumqi. You will have free time
in the evening and then check-in to your hotel for the night.

11: Urumqi (B, L, D)
After breakfast, you will leave the hotel and head to the Southern Pastures,
located at the base of Tian Shan. There are several famous sites in the area.
Then you will visit the Khazak Yurts. Afterwards you will be back to your hotel
for the evening.

Day
12: Urumqi / Shanghai (B, L, D)
After eating breakfast, you will check out of your hotel and visit Erdaoqiao
Bazaar, the largest bazaar in Urumqi. You will be able to find all sorts of
crafts here. Afterwards you will leave for the airport and fly to Shanghai.

13: Shanghai (B, L, SD)
After breakfast, you will visit the Bund, the Temple of City Patron, Yu Garden,
and Nanjing Road. Afterwards you will be driven back to your hotel for the night.

14: Shanghai / (B)
After breakfast, you will be free to explore the city until it is time to go
to the airport to catch your flight.

IMPORTANT
NOTE: The overnight train ride has sleeping compartments
with 4 berths per compartment. The guide in China will be the one to assign
a berth to each passenger. You may request with the guide to share a compartment
with another person/couple on the tour, but you cannot pay extra to have one
compartment per couple or to oneself. Also be sure to have an overnight bag
in your carry-on because your check-in baggage will be stored in cargo.
