5.
Do I need to learn reading or writing Chinese characters if I learned Pinyin?
- The answer is "Yes, you do!"
according to Mr. Carter Gu, Master
of Teaching Chinese as a second language:
- Pinyin is easy for a foreign student to learn, but it is not enough to
communicate with Chinese people
- Not every Chinese can use Pinyin. Pinyin was taught in Chinese Elementary
Schools just after 1980s, so Chinese people over 40 years old cannot use Pinyin
- Except Beijingnese, most people in China can not speak very standard Mandarin
Chinese. And most of them cannot always use Pinyin correctly. As you know,
Voice Recognition for English is already used widely. But Voice Recognition
for Mandarin is still in the laboratory of IBM because there are too many
dialects in China and people outside Beijing always speak dialects, not standard
Mandarin Chinese
- In China, you cannot find Pinyin in the street easily. If you get to China
and can't read Chinee Characters, then you cannot even understand directions,
name of the street, bus station, etc.
6.
After the payment, if I can't finish the lessons or your service this year,
can I use the the payment for the next year?
No, you can not. Due
to the tax reason,
you have to take the lessons or use the service in the same year .
