Day
01-San Francisco/Beijing (IM)
Depart San Francisco on Air China's Boeing 747 wide-body aircraft and fly to
Beijing. Cross the International Dateline.
Day 02-Beijing
(IM)
Arrive Beijing in the evening. Lodging at Central Garden Hotel.
Day 03-Beijing
(B, L, D)
After breakfast, tour Tian'anmen Square, the world's largest and most famous
square. Followed by a tour of the Forbidden City and the picturesque Summer
Palace on Kunming Lake.
Day 04-Beijing
(B, L, D)
After breakfast, depart Beijing by deluxe motor coach to explore the Great Wall,
one of the seven world wonders. After lunch, take a tour to the Historic Hutong,
which is protected by the Beijing Cultural Relics Protection Association. This
will give you a chance to experience what China was like before high-rises and
shopping malls took over a city. Tonight, enjoy a special Peking Duck Dinner.
Day 05-Beijing/Wuhan

After breakfast, visit the Temple of Heaven. Then fly (2 hours) to Wuhan. Lodging
at Holiday Inn Riverside Hotel.
Day 06-Wuhan/Yichang
(B, L, D)
After breakfast, visit Hubei Provincial Museum. Then travel by motor coach to
Yichang and board a Four-Star cruise ship, The Galaxy.
Day 07-Yangtze
River Cruise (B, L, D)
After breakfast, visit the Construction Site of the Three Gorges Dam. Then depart
Yichang to begin your upstream journey and sail into the spectacular Xiling
Gorge, the longest of the Three Gorges.
Day 08-Yangtze
River Cruise (B, L, D)
Experience a once in a lifetime adventure when you transfer to a small riverboat
and cruise up the tributary Shennongxi Stream for a close-up view of the life
of the local minority people. In the afternoon, pass through the Wu Gorge with
its deep zigzagging valley and lush forested mountains. In the evening, the
cruise ship will enter Qutang, the third and last of the Three Gorges.
Day 09-Yangtze
River Cruise (B, L, D)
After breakfast, tour Shibaozhai, a famous pagoda balanced precariously on top
of the steep cliff near the shore of the Yangtze or Fengdu, the Ghost City.
Day 10-Chongqing/Xi'an
(B, L, D)
Disembark the cruise ship and visit the Chongqing Zoo. After lunch, fly (1 hour)
to Xi'an. Lodging at Wan Nian Grand Hotel.
Day 11-Xi'an
(B, L, D)
After breakfast, the day is primarily devoted to leisurely view the world famous
Army of Terracotta Warriors, horses, and chariots buried with the first Chinese
Emperor, Qin Shihuang. After lunch, visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. After a
Dumpling Dinner, enjoy a traditional Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show.
Day 12-Xi'an/Guilin
(B, L, D)
After breakfast, take a City Tour. After lunch, fly (1 ½ hours) to Guilin,
a city of surreal beauty. Lodging at Guilin Plaza Hotel.
Day 13-Guilin
(B, L, D)
After breakfast, visit Reed Flute Cave. After lunch, visit Solitary Beauty Peak,
which offers a panoramic view of the city.
Day 14-Guilin/Yangshuo
(B, L, D)
After breakfast, travel by deluxe motor coach through lush countryside surrounding
Guilin, where you will see bamboo, water chestnut, sugar cane, and rice fields.
Arrive at a local village and embark on a memorable 3-hour Li River Cruise passing
through scenic Yangshuo. Lunch will be served onboard. Disembark cruise ship
and check into New West Street Hotel. The rest of the day is on your own. Rent
a bicycle or a tuk-tuk to go to the countryside and experience the real life
of Chinese Farmers.
Day 15-Yangshuo/Hangzhou
(B, L, D)
After breakfast, fly (2 hours) to Shanghai. Then travel by motor coach (2 hours)
to Hangzhou. Lodging at Culture Plaza Hotel.
Day 16-Hangzhou
(B, L, D)
After breakfast, take a cruise on the West Lake, revealing the ethereal beauty
of Hangzhou's willow draped islands. After lunch, travel by motor coach into
the nearby hills and visit the resplendent 4th century Lingyin Monastery.
Day 17-Hangzhou/Suzhou
(B, L, D)
After breakfast, travel by motor coach to Suzhou. After lunch, visit Garden
of the Fishing Net Master. Followed by a tour of the Silk Spinning Factory.
Lodging at Glamor Hotel.
Day 18-Suzhou/Tongli/Suzhou
(B, L, D)
After breakfast, travel by motor coach to a nearby water town named Tongli for
a half-day excursion. This town is a highly praised historical site in which
you will experience a traditional Chinese culture. Return to Suzhou by motor
coach for a City Tour.
Day 19-Suzhou/Shanghai (B, L, D)
After breakfast, depart by motor coach (1 ½ hours) to Shanghai. After
lunch, tour the Bund, a waterfront promenade known for its landmark, neo-classic
architecture of European style, plus a visit to the emporium-lined Nanjing Road.
After dinner, attend a breathtaking Shanghai Acrobatic Show. Lodging at Baolong
Hotel.
Day 20-Shanghai
(B, L)
After breakfast, visit the Shanghai Museum. After lunch, enjoy the remainder
of the day exploring the city at your own pace or go shopping.
Day 21-Shanghai/San
Francisco (B, IM)
After a leisurely breakfast, depart Shanghai on Air China to San Francisco with
a same day arrival.
